Change to closing date for representations to Sir John Chadwick's interim report
30th September
On publishing my Interim Report, I asked for representations to be sent to my office by 2 October 2009. I understand from HM Treasury that the judgment of the Divisional Court in the judicial review proceedings brought against HM Treasury in relation to its Response to the Parliamentary Ombudsman's Report into the prudential regulation of Equitable Life is likely to be handed down at the beginning of October. It may be that some of those who wish to make representations to me in response to my Interim Report would prefer to do so after they have had an opportunity to study that judgment. I am therefore extending the time for comment on my Interim Report to 16 October. If representations in full or in part, can be sent to me before then, that will aid my consideration of the issues and the speed with which I can progress my final advice. I will, of course, review that date in the light of events.
Sir John Chadwick
